A relatively fast read given the page count, and I always like Michael Pollan’s style. This might be the single best consolidated history of psychedelics I have read, and I’ve read a few. It is also modern enough to contain the contemporary history, which is in rapid flux since the reboot of research in the early 2000s.

He tempers the mystical without disparaging it, which I think is important for a practice which may have real scientific benefits but comes from both genuine and ulterior movies mystically.
